Transportation

The City of South Fulton is installing roundabouts in high-traffic areas to combat the frequent speeders.

District 3 Improvements

The Adopted FY 2023 budget strongly reflects the priorities of our City Council and delivers on our unified commitment to “Resilience, Inclusion, Strength, and Experience.” Critical investments of over $172.2 million in key areas such as public works, sanitation, parks and recreation, and technology ensure the City of South Fulton is “Where You Want to Be.” The FY 2023 budget aligns allocations to initiatives that not only support the City Council’s vision for the city but continue us on the path of delivering world-class services.

A Fiscally Sound South Fulton

With the conclusion of the four-year agreement with Jacobs, city staff is ready to handle all public works responsibilities in-house, fully. The FY 2023 budget expands on this endeavor by investing more than $12.7 million in programs and services. The transition of in-house public works services is highlighted by several new additions to the department’s fleet and operational areas such as the transportation division.

The City is also committed to focusing more on contract compliance, adding a hybrid and an electric vehicle to our fleet, as well as implementing an exclusive contracted residential sanitation program.

Transformation of our Public Works Department

High Performing Government

As our city continues to grow, we must approve these critical investments to ensure that citizens have access to a high-performing government. Building a government that works for the citizens of South Fulton streamlines processes and improves efficiency. Additionally, we are committed to the following:

  • Ensuring all eligible South Fulton employees receive a 3% pay merit increase (mid-year).

  • Funding a $1000 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for employees.

  • Expanding the City’s technology capabilities to continue to provide
    services online; and

  • Investing in facility upgrades and renovations in alignment with our strategic goal to enhance the quality of life within South Fulton.

In a city that has continued to push through during a worldwide pandemic, we can and should make all the critical investments necessary to ensure that residents in all seven districts receive world-class service delivery in a safe environment focused on inclusive prosperity.
